A victory at the season opener at Nashville's Music City Motorplex, March 2005
Bill drove his #3 National Championship Baby Grand to an exciting victory finish last night in the season opening race on the big 5/8 mile track. With 25 qualifying Baby Grands, he qualified second fastest; and with the inversion pill, he started the race in 5th place. After 35 laps and only one caution, victory lane had his name all over it!

In the Baby Grands feature, all eyes were on Bill Christie who has been the dominate driver in 2004 with two feature wins under his belt. Christie opted to start at the rear 14-car field because of his total control of the field in the first two races of the year. At the drop of the green Christie looked like he was shot out of a cannon, as he was in fourth place by the end of the first lap. At the end of the fifth circuit Christie had taken the lead and never looked back for another easy win.
